In the past decade, love has transcended borders—one plane ticket, one video call, and one shared smile at a time. More and more couples are blending cultures, languages, and hearts. Interestingly, a rising number of non-Indian partners are learning Hindi—not just for words, but for connection. From the U.S. to Spain, from Brazil to South Korea, lovebirds are embracing Hindi to speak to their in-laws, sing Bollywood songs, or simply say “tum mere ho.”
Love isn’t just blind anymore. It’s multilingual. And increasingly… it’s speaking Hindi. 💛
This trend is reflected in the growing interest in learning Hindi worldwide. According to the 2024 Duolingo Language Report, Hindi has entered the top 10 most-studied languages globally, with over 8.4 million learners . This surge indicates not only the language's growing importance in India but also its increasing appeal in international markets.
Moreover, the rise in intercultural relationships has contributed to this phenomenon. In the United States, for instance, the share of new marriages between spouses of different races or ethnicities increased to 17% in 2015, up from 3% in 1967 . As more individuals form cross-cultural unions, the desire to learn each other's languages, including Hindi, becomes a meaningful way to connect and embrace diverse heritages.
